A thought today

A thought today 11/09/10

A selection of thoughts that can change the way you view your day.

Importance of being

We are all very good at adding new things to our day, but not so good with allowing ourselves to rest, to enjoy the moment and be still, aware and present. When we think of ourselves as human doings – do this, do that, do these, we become uneasy – things just keep on mounting on ‘our plate’. But you are a human being – you need to be.

Importance of achieving

In the ‘Yoga World’ it is well know that where your attention goes, your prana follows. Therefore, when you stay focussed in one place, all your energy (prana) will be moving in the same direction and will support you in finishing the task(s) in hand. Whether the task is a particular job or being able to take a bath and relax!

Importance of beginning

Don’t be overwhelmed by the immensity of your task, just take small steps in the right direction with clear and good intention and release all those doubts about what might be possible or what you deserve in life and everything will begin to fall into place. If you really want to be the creator of your own life and don’t want to just be carried along by fate, then you must take responsibility and BEGIN TODAY!

Importance of breathing

Breath in yoga allows you to focus for few minutes on what you have spent your entire day running away from, see it for the paper tiger it is, and get on with your day and your life. Once you intensely focused on that pain or irritation, your mind is almost miraculously quieted down. Once the mind has quieted down, the ‘radio frequency’ of your intuition begins to speak to you loudly and clearly.
I know that doing yoga and meditation will help you fulfill your life’s purpose – the call of your soul.

Importance of repeating

Reciting negative mantras makes them become part of us. Often our inner mantras that we generated work against us – they define the exact opposite of what we want to achieve. There is a clear relationship between our thoughts, projections and our reality, which we create through our mind. Bus as simple as it may seem to understand this, it is quite another thing to tame the monkey that runs and jumps wildly from one thought to thought.

Importance of changing

One small or big change you want to integrate for a day, or a week or whole life will make a profound affect on your body, mind and spirit. Practice, practice, practice as regularity makes a master – a master of one’s body, mind and soul. In Kundalini yoga, it is believed that for any new pattern to be embedded solidly into your thinking and behaving, you need to spend 40 days doing it. Now you understand the saying going ‘change takes time’, but now you know how long.

Importance of challenging

Life is full of winding roads and maybe a few road blocks now and then. Be aware of taking care of yourself as you go round the bends. Remember the roads are taking you on a journey to your destination. Be patient at the road blocks, be safe when challenged with dark twists and turns. Focus on where you want to go not the obstacles in your way, or the obstacles you put in your own way.
